The Project

All partners express their common commitment to implement the project Emblematic Mediterranean Mountains network with main objectives of the project:

To provide the conditions allowing Mediterranean mountainous areas to share their challenges and to stimulate new and innovative projects in a long-term perspective
To create a community of Mediterranean mountains to provide tailor-made solutions to the specific challenges of Mediterranean AND mountainous areas
To give a role of “laboratory” to these Mediterranean mountainous areas to test new solutions based on sustainable development applied to rural and Mediterranean areas

The central axis of the Strategy is structured in the following General objectives:

The specific objectives are the following:

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVE 1. Diversify the local economy and enhance the added value of local products and services

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVE 2. Sustainable development of tourism and management of the natural and cultural environment

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVE 3. Improving living conditions and conditions of social and territorial cohesion

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVE 4. Smart development with emphasis on innovation, collaboration and development of pilot projects

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVE 5. The development and activation of human resources.

Potential beneficiaries of the action will be:

Local stakeholders who will take part in the training courses.
Members of local self-government bodies in the areas in which the transnational plan will be implemented.
Visitors of the area
The local community.
